Isildur was slain, and the Ring fell into a river. Many eld later the story continues in a small crossroads Shire where a young Hobbit named Frodo has been entrusted with an ancient Ring. Now he must embark on an Epic quest with the direction and repair of his fellow hobbits and his uncles lifelong friend Gandalf to the Cracks of condemn in cast to destroy it.

There are umpteen characters in the movie that make the movie better as the conundrum unravels, from Samwise, Merry and Pippin to Gandalf, Gimli and the both menacing and kind Aragorn.
